Can't Get You Outta My Head

Over a chai a few days back, I mentioned that it’s been a year now that I returned from Melbourne. Someone there asked me if I missed Melbourne, and I casually shook my head in a ‘Naah’
Later in the evening, lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling, I thought to myself,”Do I?”.

Emotion sickness

Subject to few weeks of prime-time TV soaps, and here's what I can't help noticing-

1. There are no characters in grey shades.u can either like them or hate them.
2. The toughest job someone has is that of the music-director.At an avg,for every word spoken, there is 17.57secs worth of dramatic music to be composed, when the camera focuses on every character individually.
3. For every sensible bahu, there has to be an evil saas,or vice-versa.
4. There's something dramatic unfolding in each episode;good enough to be shown in promos for 'Kal' but insignificant enough to have any impact on the overall plot.
5. Now,being specific, being Star+ specific.Sajjan Singh from Pratigya is their USP,be it bad or good;Navya has no other expressions than twitched eyebrows to express grief, excitement, fear and joy;Naitik in 'Ye rishta' needs a blouse more than a shirt.

P.S - Emotion sickness is a track from the Australian alternative rock band Silverchair's 1999 studio album Neon Ballroom

All in all, we're...just another brick in the wall

Witnessed this at a dahi-handi procession at a busy circle nearby. And I couldn't help thinking why dont we respect ourselves.

Video killed the radio star

Alright,it's official. Facebook killed Orkut; the same way Orkut killed yahoogroups (and the like) and chain-emails, and probably the same way some Twitter-shwitter will Facebook some day. I'm not going to dig my nose into the technology-of-tomorrow blah-blah. I'm just being a bit nostalgic. And, of course,as they do in all obituaries, paying my tributes to Orkut.

Californication

"Snow,snow,snow..everywhere. It's X-mas time. I'm loving it"
screams the status-message of another Amriki friend on Facebook, while I stare outside my window. It's 8:30 in the, should I call it, evening and its an extra-bright sun smiling cunningly at me, reflecting from the kaanch-ki-building opposite my balcony. A fine bead of sweat appears over my eye-brow as I open another can of chilled coke.

Not quite the idea of a Christmas season in a firang-land, right?

Queen Nothing

Just watched No one killed Jessica, a bollywood-style satya-ghatnao-par-aadharit flick. The movie is about...hey, this is not the movie's review, I'm not an expert and I've not yet come to mention HER.

(I won’t) Do this anymore

Beep,beep,beep!!
My phone's alarm irritatingly screeches at 4:55 AM. What the hell!! She was just about to…and this alarm. Another of those 5 AM deployments. My job sucks, big time. It’s a cold, Melbourne morning. A quick 2-minutes nap won’t hurt.

Hollywood

My favourite one-liners from movies I have seen over and over again. All angrezi movies here;for hindi movies, the list would be endless. They may not be the most popular ones;some of these are cheesy, some witty, some deep, some intelligent and some simple, but their placement in the plot makes them awesome.
